Cricket World Cup – CWC 2023 is going to start from 5th October till 19th November. BCCI has released draft schedule for CWC matches in India. India has become the host for the competition after 2011. India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have hosted the tournament in 2011. Now, in 2023, India is going to be the only host for CWC 2023.
First match with Opening Ceremony will be held at Ahmedabad on 5th October. Also, Final CWC match will also be held at Ahmedabad on 19th November. Semi-final venues haven’t been finalised by BCCI. They have submitted this draft schedule with ICC. From ICC, the schedule will be shared with all other countries participating in CWC 2023.

India will play their first CWC match against Australia in CWC on 8th October, in Chennai. India will play on:
11th October – Afghanistan – Delhi
15th October – Pakistan – Ahmedabad
19th October – Bangladesh – Pune
22nd October – New Zealnad – Dharmasala
29th October – England – Lucknow
2nd November – Qualifier – Mumbai
5th November – South Africa – Kolkata
11th November – Qualifier – Bengaluru
First CWC match will be played by defending champions England against New Zealand. They both have been finalists of 2019 ODI CWC Final. Team India will play all over the country but Vizag or Hyderabad will not host India matches. Semi-finals will be held on 15th November and 16th November. CWC 2023 is expected to be won by India as India managed to win 2011 Home CWC under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.
