Kannappa is the latest movie starring Manchu Vishnu, directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by Mohan Babu. Big stars like Mohanlal, Sarath Kumar, and Prabhas play important roles. From the moment the movie was announced, there were high expectations. The trailer impressed the audience, increasing the excitement. After several delays, the movie finally released today. Let’s see how the movie turned out.
Story:
In a forest area near the Swarna Mukhi river, five tribal groups live. Thinnadu (played by Manchu Vishnu) is the son of the tribe leader Nadhanadhu (Sarath Kumar). As a child, Thinnadu loses his friend and becomes an atheist, believing there is no God. Later, he falls in love with Nemali (Preeti Mukundhan) from another tribe. One day, Thinnadu accidentally kills a man who comes to steal a holy object. This leads to a war, with a powerful enemy planning to destroy the five tribes. The tribes unite but reject Thinnadu as their leader because he doesn’t believe in God. What happens next? How does Thinnadu transform into the devoted Kannappa? What roles do Rudra (Prabhas) and Kirata (Mohanlal) play? These answers unfold on screen.
Analysis:
The director tries to take viewers into a new world inspired by spiritual history. The first half focuses on introducing the characters and tribes, which makes the story feel slow. But the second half is emotional and gripping. Thinnadu’s transformation into Kannappa is the highlight, especially the last 40 minutes with Prabhas’s entry – these scenes give goosebumps.
Manchu Vishnu surprises with his emotional acting, especially in the climax. Mohan Babu and Prabhas make strong impacts in their limited roles. Mohanlal and Sarath Kumar also do well. The background score is excellent and adds depth to key scenes. The visuals and locations are beautiful. However, the VFX could have been better, and the film feels a bit lengthy.
Final Verdict:
Kannappa is a good devotional film with emotional storytelling, strong performances, and grand visuals. Worth watching for its unique presentation of faith and transformation.
