To celebrate agriculture as a festival, not a burden, the Telangana government will hold a special event named ‘Rythu Nestham’ on Tuesday. This comes after nearly ₹9,000 crore in financial aid was distributed to farmers under the Rythu Bharosa scheme — all within just nine days. Check out the Rythu Nestham live here.

The event will be held in a festive spirit at the Rajiv Gandhi statue near the state secretariat, marking the final phase of payments. On the first day, similar gatherings were organised at farmer platforms across the state in the presence of thousands.

This decision was taken during a Cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, where several key policies and actions were discussed:

In a push to promote sports, the Cabinet approved a new sports policy aiming for Olympic-level development by 2036, with improved infrastructure and incentives.

As part of the state’s long-term growth plan, the Cabinet also approved Vision 2047, which aims to grow Telangana into a $3 trillion economy by India’s 100th year of independence.

Health initiatives saw a boost too, with Padma Shri Dr. Nori Dattatreyudu, a renowned oncologist, appointed as an advisor to improve cancer care services in the state.

Other administrative changes include:

The Cabinet also resolved to review the implementation and progress of its decisions every quarter.

Lastly, ministers expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka for standing by farmers and ensuring timely release of support funds. Ministers Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, and Vakati Srihari shared the Cabinet’s decisions with the press after the meeting.
