Union Government have been thinking about revising Minimum Selling Price, MSP for Kharif Season. Cabinet Ministers under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi met on 7th June. In the meeting, Union Government has decided to take the revised MSPs issue seriously. The MSPs have been increased for Kharif Marketing Season of 2022-23. Union Government has increased ordinary Quintal rice price to Rs.2,183 by Rs.143. They increased Grade-A Quintal Rice price to Rs.2203 by Rs.163.
Piyush Goyal made the announcement representing Union Government. Hybrid Corn, Ragi, Sunflower seeds, Soya Beans, Corn, Peanuts MSPs have been increased too. Moong Dal MSPs have been increased by 10.4% to Rs.8,558. Union Government also increased Cotton crops MSPs as well. Piyush Goyal has stated that Union Government has considered decline in retail inflation to take this decision.

He said that this decision will help farmers in Kharif season. PM Modi has clearly stated to Cabinet Ministers to help farmers in every which way they can. Piyush Goyal hoped this price will help farmers to contain the growing costs. Union Government also given approval to Delhi Metro expansion from Huda City centre to Gurugram Cyber city. Well, farmers can be happy with this increase in MSPs and be encouraged to be active in this season.
