
Union Cabinet has agreed to estbalish new Nursing Colleges. They have announced a total of new 157 colleges. The decision of Union Cabinet has been announced by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. The colleges will be established near to Medical Colleges. Union Cabinet has agreed to spend Rs.1570 crores to build them.
Minister stated that Union Government wishes to improve quality of medical education in the country. Union Cabinet has agreed to the idea of establishing nursing colleges near Medical colleges. This way they wish to use skill labs, clinical facilities, faculty in the medical colleges. Union Cabinet has asked officials to finish the construction of the colleges in 2 years.

Union Cabinet has also given their nod to National Medical Devices Policy. This policy will improve facilities to manufacture medical devices in India. This will also decrease the dependency on imports of medical devices. Union Cabinet has expressed their condolences and respects to Prakash Singh Badal, Shiromani Akali Dal leader and senior politician, ex-chief minister of Punjab.
