Karnataka elections have seen an unexpected result. Major Exit Polls have predicted Hung Assembly except for few. Congress has won Karnataka Assembly elections with huge majority of 135 seats. But the happiness of winning a crucial state from South India, did not last long. Congress high command is trying to solve the suspense and mystery behind electing new Karnataka CM.
Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar are front contenders for Karnataka CM post. Majority of MLAs are hoping that Siddaramaiah will be elected as CM. But DK Shivakumar as KPCC president, changed the situation in favor of Congress. Hence, both of them are expecting CM post. Karnataka Congress party is facing huge amount of turbulence. SC leaders are asking for Mallikarjuna Kharge to be made as Karnataka CM. SC leaders with faction have been agitating near KPCC office.
So that both Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar stay silent. Earlier reports have stated that Siddaramaiah has been elected as Karnataka CM by Congress High Command. But DK Shivakumar did not agree to join Siddaramaiah cabinet during his talks with Rahul Gandhi. Now, he is talking with Mallikarjuna Kharge.
Randeep Surjewala, Congress spokesperson has stated that still 48-72 hours time will be required to announce Karnataka CM and cabinet. So, the suspense continues still. On the other hand, Siddaramaiah faction has already started arrangements for his oath ceremony at Kanterava Stadium.
