Rahul Gandhi has been critical of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP government activities. Congress and BJP have been playing blame game politics from long abd there is nothing new in it. Rahul Gandhi though raised an important point this time around. He condemned BJP government not inviting President Draupadi Murumu to New Parliament inauguration. Rahul Gandhi called this act as disrespecting Indian Constitution.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate New Parliament building on 28th May. NDA Government has plans to start Monsoon sessions of Parliament in the building. Rahul Gandhi led opposition parties have decided to not attend the inauguration ceremony. Total 19 parties have released an open letter about the same. Rahul Gandhi stated that President Draupadi Murumu is the current first citizen of India and her position is above everyone. He opined that Constitution has given her right to inaugurate the legislative new building and PM did not adhere to it.

BRS from Telangana, who have been direct opposition to BJP have also opposed the act. Rahul Gandhi went on to call the Parliament as a building not built with bricks and mortar but with tax payers hard earned money. Hence, the building should get that respect he reiterated. Rahul Gandhi and Congress along with other opposition parties won’t attend the event. PM Narendra Modi is currently in Australia tour and he did not respond on this act from opposition parties.
