Pakistan has been going through economical crisis and availability of food grains has been scarce. Now, the country has decided to take severe action illegal immigrants. Pakistan has allowed Afghans scared of Taliban to migrate into their country in 2021. Taliban took over Afghanistan rule back then and several Afghans ran away from them as refugees. Now, Pakistan has asked illegally immigrated Afghans upto 17 lakhs people to vacate Pak, by 1st November.
Afghanistan had been for long in Taliban rule till USA fought a war with them. After defeating Taliban, Afghanistan elected a democratic government. But Taliban resurged and took over the government in 2021. Immediately, Afghans started migrating to Pakistan as refugees. More than 13 Lakh Afghans have registered themselves as refugees and 8.8 Lakh Afghans got visas and official recognition. Pakistan has now decided to deport illegal migrants amounting to 17 Lakh people.
Local media has stated that this decision has been taken to control unrest in Balochistan. Militant groups like Pakistani Taliban(PPT) and Islamic State have been fighting in the region. Pakistan government took this decision to send illegal immigrants. Some reports even suggest that people with legal permissions might also be asked to leave. Pakistan government has warned illegal immigrants that they will resort to DNA testing and use armed forces to vacate. This has become International matter of concern.
