Opposition parties have been meeting to bring a huge alliance. Most political parties in India have been planning to somehow end BJP dominance in next elections. Congress party has been instrumental in forming this alliance and they became the head of this meeting. Opposition Parties have announced their alliance at Bengaluru. They have formed the alliance and gave it the name as I-N-D-I-A. 26 Opposition parties have come together to form Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance(I-N-D-I-A).
The single point agenda of I-N-D-I-A is to defeat BJP and PM Narendra Modi. Opposition parties include TMC, NCP, DMK, AAP, JMM and leaders like Akhilesh Yadav, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Nitesh Kumar, CPI, CPM and others. Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress Party President, announced that Rahul Gandhi proposed the name. He also stated that Congress is not batting for Prime Minister post. He stated that before elections United Opposition will decide on the candidates.
He stated that United Opposition has come together to save Democracy, Secularism, Social Justice, Consititutional spirit in India. He further stated that BJP did not win 303 MP seats on their own. He stated that BJP has ditched the friendly spirit after elections. Opposition parties have conducted this meeting on 17th and 18th July at Bengaluru. The United Opposition have stated that NDA and BJP have damaged secular spirit in India and hence, they formed I-N-D-I-A.
