KTR, Minister of Telangana and son of CM KCR, has intensified his fight against BJP. He commented on Vizag Steel Plant privatization issue. KTR called Central Government plans as “evil” and stated that Vizag Steel Plant issue is important. He stated that Central Government forced VSP to procure 60% of its production cost on procurement of raw material. KTR has stated that private companies are only spending 40% of their production costs. He alleged that Central Government has allotted them iron ore, coal and other mines. KTR wrote an open letter about the same to PM Narendra Modi.
Several leaders have asked about his sudden love towards Vizag Steel Plant. KTR stated that he has to react as a Telugu person on this issue. Many BJP leaders from Telangana have questioned his involvement in VSP. They stated that KTR is trying to find issues against BJP by hook or crook. They alleged that he has no right to question a decision being taken after many deliberations.
After being asked about his involvement in Vizag Steel Plant issue. KTR stated that he has to react on this issue as next they will try to sell off Singareni Collieries to private companies. He reacted on Twitter about this issue and quoted Martin Niemollar. KTR tweeted this on his Twitter, “Some people are questioning as to why I am speaking up for stopping privatisation & sale of Vizag Steel Plant. I have been voicing my support since 2021 and have raised the issue number of times extending solidarity to the employees of steel plant. More importantly, if we don’t speak now, Modi Govt will also go after Singareni collieries next. Remember this..”
