High Court has postponed hearing on YS Avinash Reddy anticipatory bail petition. Telangana HC has been asked to grant him anticipatory bail as CBI could arrest him. YS Avinash Reddy has been asked to appear in CBI investigation as witness in YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case. Recently, CBI arrested YS Bhaskar Reddy, his father, as prime accused. Avinash Reddy filed a petition in High Court anticipating CBI would arrest him next. Now, High Court has postponed hearing on this petition to 26th April, 2023.
On 18th April, High Court has ordered CBI to not arrest Avinash Reddy till 25th April. They have asked him to appear before CBI everyday. High Court even asked CBI to give out questionnaire, if they repeat questions in their investigation. Sunitha, daughter of YS Vivekananda Reddy, moved to Supreme Court against these High Court orders.
Supreme Court found these orders atrocious and struck them off. So, YS Avinash Reddy lawyers asked High Court to complete their hearing on the petition as soon as possible on 25th April, only. Court aksed them to submit Supreme Court judgement copy and then only, they can proceed. Lawyers asked for time till 2:30 PM on 25th. But as they failed to submit the copy, High Court decided to continue with hearing on 26th April. CBI might also wait till High Court completes their hearing before deciding on arresting YS Avinash Reddy.
