On Friday, BJP National vice president Mukul Roy has rejoined the TMC along with his son, Subhranshu Roy in the presence of TMC chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Mamata Banerjee welcomed the return of Mukul Roy and said he will play a key role in the party. ”You know the old is gold. He came to his party again. Yes, more people are coming too, ” Mamata told the media on the occasion.
Mamata responded directly to a media query as to whether all those who left the party would be reinstated. She also said that those who left the party for money and BJP before elections would never be considered and called them ‘traitors’. She alleged that Mukul Roy was threatened by the BJP, which had an impact on his health.
On this occasion, Mukul Roy said that he was very happy to leave the BJP and meet old friends again. He praised Mamata as the only leader for India and Bengal. He said that he has never had any differences with Didi. Mamata intervened and joked with the media, “Don’t try to create conflicts.”
Over Mukul’s rejoining in TMC, BJP Bengal leaders called him opportunistic and shared BJP’s poll strategies and plans to Mamata during elections.
