Before unlock, think about the third wave: ICMR

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has made it clear that it needs to be very careful about lifting the lockdown it is implementing to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic. When you want to lift lockdown sanctions, don’t forget to think about the upcoming Third Wave. It advised the state governments to think well to avoid the third wave and withdraw the lockdown very slowly and gradually.

It said the issue of easing sanctions and resuming operations would revolve around three pillars.

The Covid-19 positivity rate for the  whole week is less than 5 percent.

More than 70 percent of people at risk of contracting the disease, such as the elderly and those over the age of 45 with multiple illnesses, are vaccinated.

Collectively people act appropriately to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The unlock process can be carried out by considering all the three, which stated above.

Speaking at a press conference, ICMR chief Dr Balaram Bhargava clarified that the establishment of boundaries at the district level and the increase in examinations were not justifiable solutions. He said there was no shortage of vaccines.
