US-Iran War Impact on India: US-Iran War has been going on for a while now and the impact is on global level. From energy resources to economy, many nations are facing it. For India, the fact that this country is heavily dependent on energy imports, it is facing issues. And the biggest question now is ”could this crisis lead to lockdown-like restrictions again?”

US-Iran War Impact on India:

India imports about 90% of its crude oil and a big portion of LPG from middle east. And most of these imports have to cross the strait of Hormuz, it is a global shipping route, and this is now at risk due to the conflict. This disruption directly impacts on the availability of fuel and cooking gas supply which impacts on transports and logistics.

The question about another possible lockdown is when PM Modi stated, ”The effects of these difficult circumstances… are expected to last a long time. Therefore, we have to stay ready, we have to stay united. We stood united and faced such circumstances during the COVID pandemic, also. In the same manner, we have to stay ready this time as well.”

Fact Check: No, It is not possible

Lockdown during covid 19 was to protect ourselves from a contageous virus and we were not aware about the virus back then and it required extra care to keep our country alive. It was a public health emergency.

By PM Modi’s statement, people started panic buying of resources and thinking that there would be another lockdown in 2026. But that reference was just to explain the uncertainity of the situations now due to global impact of war. This is just about the preparedness and nothing about hinting on imposing another lockdown.
