Explosives Found Near PM Modi Event Venue in Bengaluru, High Alert Issued

The suspicious items were spotted by the footpath at an ashram near Kagalipura while security forces were carrying out routine checks on Sunday morning. The area where these explosives were found is just 3 km away from the venue of the event where the Prime Minister will participate. Immediately bomb squad and forensic teams entered the field and took control of the area. It is reported that the police have arrested a suspect and are interrogating him in connection with this incident. Reliable sources said that an investigation is underway to determine if these were used for mining or if they were part of a conspiracy to target the Prime Minister’s visit.

Prime Minister at Art of Living 45th Anniversary
Amidst the security scare, the Prime Minister continued his tour. The Prime Minister participated in the celebrations organized on the occasion of completion of 45 years of the Art of Living organization founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. Speaking on this occasion, the Prime Minister praised the work of Art of Living in spirituality and social change. As part of the programme, the Prime Minister inaugurated the newly constructed Dhyana Mandir (Meditation Hall) in the ashram premises. Talking about natural farming and environmental protection, the Prime Minister said that environment and economy cannot be separated. The Prime Minister praised Bengaluru as not just a technology hub but also the home of India’s spiritual consciousness.

Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, high alert was announced across the state after explosives were found in Bengaluru. Security has been doubled on the Prime Minister’s route. Security agencies are deeply investigating how these gelatin sticks got there. Officials have clarified that the situation is under control and there is no deficiency in the security arrangements.
