Former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s appearance in the Kolkata High Court today in the attire of a lawyer has become a topic of discussion in political circles. Her photos wearing a black lawyer’s gown are going viral on social media. She appeared in the court during the hearing of the case related to the violence that took place in Bengal after the assembly elections.
Allegations of attacks on political workers and party offices followed the election, which ended the Trinamool Congress party’s 15-year rule. In this background, this case was filed. The petition was filed by Shirshanya Bandopadhyay, son of senior TMC leader and lawyer Kalyan Banerjee. It is said in the petition that after the elections many activists were targeted and political revenge was taken.
All India Trinamool Congress responded on social media platform X on this occasion. The party said that Mamata Banerjee will always stand by the people of Bengal in times of need. Her fight for truth, justice and constitutional values will continue. She also appreciated that she is moving forward with compassion, courage and commitment beyond the politics of hate. The party also said in its statement that she has always fought against BJP’s injustices. The case is currently under consideration by the court, and more hearings will be held in the coming days. The Kolkata High Court will take up further investigation on these allegations.
