Rescuers and Border Road Development officials are working hard to rescue the trapped workers in Uttarakhand Tunnel Collapse incident. An under construction, tunnel has collapsed due to a landslide in Uttarakashi. The incident happened on 12th November, but nation has been encapsulated by CWC 2023 fever and Team India progress.
Now, the concentration is back on saving the 41 workers trapped under the debris of the tunnel. Rescuers have been working hard to give them oxygen, food and water supply. A huge 55m long hole has been digged currently, to give them the necessary supplies. While the supplies are being sent, Border Road officials are working on digging two more parallel holes from top of the mountain parallel to the current one.
With this, they hope to bring the workers out of the debris and also re-construct the tunnel back in less time. Rescuers are reporting information and updates to Union Government in Delhi and also to Uttarakhand government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has conversed with Uttarakhand CM and ministers over telephone to know the progress of the matters. He has promised the CM, all sorts of help needed to complete the rescue mission, on time.
Internationally, many experts are also being contacted to complete the operation in time. Himalayan terrain being the hardest to crack, the officials and rescue operatives are taking that much time to reach to the workers and bring them back safely. Hopefully, the rescue operation will be concluded soon and workers will be back to their families, in no time.
