Maoist groups are active in Chhattisgarh forests. They have been silent for some time and they have decided to attack a police vehicle. At Dantewada, the Maoist blast blown up a police minivan. The blast left a huge crater on the road. They used Improvised Explosive Device, IED in the blast. 10 policemen and a driver are killed in this Maoist blast.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the Maoist Blast attack on Twitter. He wrote, “Strongly condemn the attack on the Chhattisgarh police in Dantewada. I pay my tributes to the brave personnel we lost in the attack. Their sacrifice will always be remembered. My condolences to the bereaved families.” Policemen belonging to the District Reserve Guard, are killed in Maoist blast.
DRG is specially established by Chhattisgarh state to control Maoist groups. The special force comprises of local tribals mostly. The Maoist blast has shocked many people. Officials have condemned the attack and announced compensation to the families of dead policemen. The policemen are coming back after an anti-Maoist operation. With this Maoist attack, they have sent a strong message to officials.
