Yatra 2 is the sequel to political drama Yatra, released in 2019. The original movie is a biopic of famous political leader and ex-CM YS Rajasekhar Reddy. Continuing the story, current AP CM YS Jagan has also gone on to conduct a Yatra. Why he had to do so? Mahi V Raghav has decided to chronicle the real incidents in his own cinematic way. Let’s discuss about the film in detail.

Plot:
Then AP CM YS Rajasekhar Reddy(Mammootty) tragically dies in a plane accident. Watch the movie to relive the memories!

Analysis:
First thing that strikes you is the love with which Mahi V Raghav made this movie. Yes, at every given moment he tried to elevate Jagan and major point he tried to make is that Jagan is trying to walk in the path laid by YS Rajasekhar Reddy and he succeeded. At every given moment, he saw Jagan as a people’s leader that he showcased the same to us. While political experts might analyse Jagan’s journey in any fashion he has firmly established himself as a People’s leader and CM. Mahi V Raghav strongly conveyed the same. But glossing over the details of cases and antagonising other leaders also seemed like a creative liberty. It might not sit well with everyone. But for the people who love and follow Jagan, this film like a folklore song about him and his “Yatra”.

Mammootty is again fabulous as Rajasekhar Reddy and Jiiva stuns with his emphatic and close-to-real life performance. He is able to handle the character and showcase every emotion perfectly. He never let his imitation become a caricature. Subhaleka Sudhakar has been used wisely by the makers. His voice and his presence helped in elevating Jagan at crucial points. All others did their job well. Santhosh Narayanan’s music is the backbone of this film. He never let any moment go dull and Cinematography by Madhie is also top notch. Editing by Sharvan is praise worthy. Movie is a pure love story to YS Jagan at the same time a gripping chronicle of recent political developments in Telugu state AP from Jagan’s purview.
