Rocking star Yash is back as a lead actor in the upcoming film Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas. The movie is currently being shot, with filming limited to Bengaluru and Mumbai. Key schedules have been managed in these two cities, with the team recently completing a 45-day long schedule in Mumbai.

At present, a new schedule is underway in Bengaluru, which is expected to wrap up the remaining scenes. The major part of the shooting is already completed, allowing the team to take things a bit easier. The Bengaluru schedule is moving at a slow pace, but filming is expected to be fully completed by October. After this, post-production work will begin.

Initially, the film was slated for release on 19 March. However, rumours are now circulating that the release may be postponed. The makers are reportedly planning a new release window around mid-year instead of March. The exact reasons for the delay have not been officially revealed, but the decision seems to be based on strategic planning. The team believes March may not be the ideal time for a theatrical release.

Since Toxic is set to release pan-India, the makers are taking care to choose a period suitable for audiences across all states. In some states, including the Telugu-speaking regions, board exams will be underway at that time. Students are unlikely to visit theatres, which could affect box office performance. The team feels the film will perform better during a holiday season, and an April–May release is now looking more likely.

This will be Yash’s first film in four years following KGF, and it has been chosen carefully from among scripts he selected after the massive success of his previous film. Expectations are high, but promotional materials released so far have not created much excitement. The initial glimpses and posters have received a lukewarm response, leading some fans to wonder if Yash is returning with a routine project rather than a KGF-style blockbuster.

Despite this, the team is confident that Toxic will attract audiences once released, thanks to Yash’s star power and the film’s pan-India appeal.
