Tollywood star Anushka Shetty, who rose to fame with Super and later cemented her stardom with Baahubali, is all set to return with her upcoming film Ghaati. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, the movie was initially scheduled for release on 4 July but was later postponed. It will now hit cinemas on 5 September.
The latest buzz surrounding the film has caught everyone’s attention. Pushpa Arun Kumar, the mother of Kannada superstar Yash, is stepping into film distribution with this project. Through her banner PA Films, she has secured the Karnataka release rights for Ghaati. Interestingly, she is also known to be a huge admirer of Anushka Shetty, which reportedly influenced her decision to back the film.
The news has created quite a stir on social media, with fans excited to see Yash’s family stepping into a new venture while supporting one of the most admired actresses of the South. Industry insiders believe this move will give the film a strong reach in Karnataka, considering the massive popularity of the Yash family.
Ghaati is said to revolve around stories from mountain pass regions, with actor Vikram Prabhu playing a key role alongside Anushka. Early glimpses, including two songs and the trailer, have already impressed audiences and raised expectations. Anushka is set to appear in a powerful role, unlike anything she has done before, adding to the curiosity.
Backed by UV Creations and First Frame Entertainment, Ghaati is shaping up to be one of the most awaited releases this season. With its release clashing with several other big films on 5 September, trade circles are keen to see how it performs at the box office.
With Yash’s mother distributing the film in Karnataka and Anushka’s commanding presence in a strong female lead, Ghaati is already gaining the momentum it needs ahead of release.
