Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has recently shared an interesting memory from the early days of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s relationship. Speaking on a podcast, the The Kashmir Files director revealed that Anushka Sharma once lived next door to him and that her father was a close friend of his.
According to Vivek Agnihotri, this was long before Anushka and Virat tied the knot. At the time, Kohli would regularly visit Anushka at her home, quietly meeting her while their relationship was still private. He recalled how children in the street would become excited whenever the cricketer’s car pulled up, rushing to surround it with joy.
“My only memory of Virat is seeing children chasing after his car whenever he came to visit Anushka,” Agnihotri said. He admitted that he never personally met the cricketer, as cricket was not a major interest for him, and his work kept him constantly occupied.
The director explained that he and his family eventually moved away from the neighbourhood, but he still shares a warm friendship with Anushka’s father.
Meanwhile, Virat and Anushka have now settled in London with their two children, Wamiqa, born in 2021, and Akaay, born earlier this year. The couple are said to be embracing a quieter life away from the spotlight, regularly attending spiritual gatherings at ISKCON and focusing on their family.
Agnihotri’s comments have resurfaced as his upcoming film The Bengal Files faces opposition from political groups, who argue it carries controversial themes. Despite this, his casual revelation about the early days of Virat and Anushka’s love story has sparked fresh curiosity among fans, offering a rare glimpse into the couple’s journey before marriage.
