Vishwak Sen decided to try different genres and characters to prove his mettle as an actor. He took up Ashoka Vanam Lo Arjuna Kalyanam kind of a subject that doesn’t really fit to his age. He has decided to try romantic movie with Ori Devuda. Film is a remake of Tamil hit film, Oh My Kadavule, by same writer – director, Ashwath Marimuthu. Venkatesh has decided to play a special role in the film as God and Mithila Palkar, Asha Bhat have been cast in important lead roles. Let’s discuss about the film.

Plot::

Arjun Durgaraj (Vishwak Sen) and Anu Paulraj (Mithila Palkar) apply for divorce after one year of their marriage. Anu proposes marriage to Arjun, when she is asked to get married to an NRI, by her father. She feels secure with Arjun. But Arjun sees her only as a friend, still agrees to marry her, unable to say “No”. In Court, God’s assistant (Rahul Ramakrishna) announces himself to Arjun and asks him to come to their place, if he needs divorce. Arjun meets God (Venkatesh) and narrates his story. He finds Meera (Asha Bhat), his school senior more relatable than Anu.

God gives him a ticket to change his decision and reverse the one year time. What will Arjun do? God puts three conditions to Arjun for second chance to be successful. Will he live up to them? What changes will he incorporate into his life? Watch the movie to know more…

Analysis::

Vishwak Sen gave his best to fit the role and deliver all the complex emotions with great ease. He managed to play well to the gallery in most of the scenes but few scenes seem to have more weight than he could carry. He went slightly loud and may be slight tonal difference might have suited him better. Mithila Palkar did her role well but did not have much chemistry with the hero. Asha Bhat also fails to impress. Santhosh, Tamil Reality TV Show Cooku with Comali 3 fame, did act well in his few scenes role. Venkatesh did seem to play the role a bit louder than he normally does. Everyone somehow decided to “shout” more than act in major scenes.

Aswath Marimuthu delivered a suprise sleeper hit with Oh My Kadavule in Tamil. Ritika Singh and Ashok Selvan, the lead pair, managed to spark rumours about their real life as well. The chemistry they shared felt more organic and relatable than the Telugu pairing. While all are good performers, something went really too Over-the-top in many scenes. Leon James delivered good music and premise is fun enough for couples to enjoy in theatres. Writing and execution could have been much much better though.

Positives:
Vishwak Sen Performance
Venkatesh Screen Presence
Songs
Basic Theme and Plot

Negatives::
Predictable Screenplay
Chemistry seemed a bit off
Few scenes had “shouting” matches

Bottom line: No Second Chance!
