Vikram races ahead with three films, nears 65th milestone

Very few actors in the film industry manage to remain leading heroes well into their fifties and sixties. Even fewer continue in hero roles in their seventies. Many senior stars shift to supporting or antagonist roles, but some, with remarkable physical fitness, still compete with younger actors in action and charm. One such example is Kollywood star Chiyaan Vikram, nearing his 65th movie.

Earlier this year, Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sooran hit screens and enjoyed strong success in Tamil Nadu. Almost immediately after its release, the actor signed two more films, with one expected to release before the end of the year.

Vikram’s 63rd film, directed by Madonne Ashwin, is currently in its final phase of shooting. If all goes according to plan, it could reach cinemas by year’s end. Industry buzz suggests that both the teaser and official title announcement will arrive soon, with speculation already swirling about the title.

Following that, Vikram will move to his 64th project, helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Prem Kumar. Known for his distinctive storytelling, Prem’s collaboration with Vikram has sparked excitement across audiences, not just in Tamil Nadu but nationwide. This film is likely to release in early 2026. Interestingly, both the 63rd and 64th films are being shot concurrently, with Vikram expected to wrap up work on them before the year ends.

Not one to slow down, Vikram has also reportedly given the green light to his 65th film, to be directed by Ram Kumar Balakrishnan, who gained recognition with Parking. This upcoming project, said to have a unique storyline, has already piqued the interest of fans and critics alike.

Industry circles are amazed at Vikram’s pace, especially considering that his son Dhruv Vikram has been taking a slower approach in choosing projects. While Dhruv moves cautiously, Vikram continues to maintain high momentum, managing three projects simultaneously. With his 65th milestone approaching and this level of commitment, it’s not far-fetched to imagine him entering the 100-film club in the future.
