The Vaccine War is the new film from Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri. The reputed filmmaker became famous with his film, The Kashmir Files. He made movie about exodus of Kashmir Pandits from Kashmit valley. Critics found it vindictive and propaganda film. Now, the maker is coming up with The Vaccine War film about Covid pandemic and Vaccines. He has now cast legendary actor Nana Patekar in the lead role. The Vaccine War team has released theatrical trailer of the film.
Movie hogged limelight when Vivek Agnihotri announced release on same date as Salaar The Cease Fire Part-1. Now, Salaar has been postponed indefinitely and The Vaccine War would release on the date without any threat. The makers want this film to repeat the success of The Kashmir Files and the trailer tries to showcase such emotion. It is being promoted as “True Story” about India producing vaccines like they are on the war front. Hence, the title has been given to the film as “The Vaccine War”.
Nana Patekar, Raima Sen, Anupam Kher and Pallavi Joshi are cast in the film in lead roles. Majority of the trailer has gone on to showcase Nana Patekar role and his ambition to produce safe vaccines before world for India. The Vaccine War brings back the memories of nightmares that people had to go through during Covid pandemic time. We have to wait and see, how people will react after watching the film. For now, production values doesn’t look that impressive while content might have power to engage audiences. The Vaccine War is releasing worldwide on 28th September, 2023 in theatres.
