Thani Oruvan has become a huge blockbuster in Tamil. Many got surprised when a remake specialist like director Mohan Raja resorted to writing a fresh original script. Even though he has been highly successful with remakes he wanted to make something original. Thani Oruvan became his biggest original blockbuster and gave a necessary push to Jayam Ravi career too. After PS-1 and PS-2 huge successes, Jayam Ravi is looking to get back to Thani Oruvan mode with Thani Oruvan 2.
The movie has been remade in Telugu as Dhruva with Ram Charan. If Thani Oruvan 2 becomes a huge success, may be Dhruva 2 will also be on cards. Jayam Ravi as Mithran got back into similar look and reduced his weight, he put on for recent films. Thani Oruvan 2 shoot will start in 2024.
Mohan Raja announced the sequel on 28th August as Thani Oruvan completed 8 years. Nayanthara will be back as the leading lady in this movie. Kalapathi Aishwarya will produce the film on AGS Entertainment who recently gave a big success like Love Today. They are producing Thalapathy Vijay’s next film, Thalapathy68 with Venkat Prabhu as director.
Mohan Raja has announced that this time Mithran will not find another Siddharth Abhimanyu but the villain will find him. Thani Oruvan 2 music will be composed by Sam CS. Movie is expected to release in 2025. Thani Oruvan 2 will have a huge opening and fans of original will definitely be wishing for this one to be mounted on even larger scale.
