Teja Sajja’s latest film Mirai has taken the box office by storm, setting a new industry record for mid-range films and tier-2 heroes on its second day.

According to trade reports, the film collected an impressive ₹8.20 crore share in the Telugu states on day two, a figure that has never been achieved before by a movie in this category. With this, Mirai has broken past records set by films of other popular tier-2 actors such as Nani’s Hit 3, Shyam Singha Roy and Dasara, Vijay Deverakonda’s Khushi, Geetha Govindam and King of Kotha, as well as Naga Chaitanya’s Tandel, Love Story and Majili.

In the history of Tollywood, Mirai now stands as the mid-range film with the highest ever second-day share in the Telugu states. This success is being seen as a major turning point for Teja Sajja’s career, with trade analysts suggesting that he has firmly entered the top league of tier-2 heroes.

Critics have also praised Teja Sajja’s performance in the Mirai. His action sequences, done without body doubles, have been highlighted as one of the film’s biggest strengths. At the same time, his comic timing has been appreciated by audiences, making his role more engaging. Reviews across languages have been unanimously positive about his performance, boosting the film’s appeal further.

Mirai is directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni and produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under the People Media Factory banner. Ritika Nayak plays the female lead, while veteran actor Jagapathi Babu and actress Shriya feature in key roles. Manchu Manoj appears as the antagonist, adding weight to the narrative.

With its strong box office run, wide appreciation and growing word of mouth, Mirai looks set to continue its record-breaking journey, establishing Teja Sajja as one of the most promising young stars in Telugu cinema today.
