Teja Sajja is set to return as the hero in Zombie Reddy 2, the sequel to his 2021 breakout film. The announcement has created a buzz among fans, as the actor is fresh from the back-to-back success of HanuMan and Mirai.
The original Zombie Reddy, directed by Prasanth Varma, was released in February 2021. Though it started as a small film, it became a surprise hit, winning both box office numbers and OTT audiences. Now, with the sequel officially on the way, expectations are high that it will take the story to a bigger scale.
While Prasanth Varma is providing the script for Zombie Reddy 2, the director’s role is yet to be confirmed. Industry reports suggest that Suparn Varma, known for Rana Naidu and The Family Man, is in talks to direct. Initially, producer Naga Vamsi was linked to the project, but it is now being produced by People Media Factory, the same banner that backed Teja’s recent hit Mirai.
Teja’s rise in Tollywood has been remarkable. From starting his journey as a child actor, he has now become one of the most bankable young stars in Telugu cinema. His 2024 Sankranti release HanuMan turned into a pan-India blockbuster, surprising many with its scale and success. Following that, Mirai proved his consistency, opening strong and gaining positive talk from critics and audiences alike.
Interestingly, all three of Teja’s recent hits — Zombie Reddy, HanuMan, and Mirai — are lined up for sequels. This rare achievement highlights not just his growing popularity but also the strong fan base for the stories he has been part of.
With Zombie Reddy 2 on the way and official announcements expected soon, fans are eagerly waiting to see how Teja Sajja continues his winning streak. If the sequel lives up to expectations, it could further cement his place as one of the rising stars of Telugu cinema.
