Noted Telugu filmmaker Sukumar, who has guided many assistants into successful directors, is now supporting two more new talents. Veera Kogadam, who played an important role in writing and research for Pushpa and Pushpa 2, has impressed Sukumar with a thriller story. After months of work, the script has been finalised.
The film will be set against the backdrop of Rayalaseema. Actor Kiran Abbavaram, originally from Rayachoti in Kadapa district, has been chosen for the lead role. The team felt he would fit perfectly. Kiran, who came back into form last year with the film Ka, liked the story and agreed to take part.
Kiran’s new film K Ramp is set to release next month. He is currently working on Chennai Love Story. Once that finishes, he will begin work on Veera Kogadam’s film. The project will be produced by Vamsi Nandipati along with Ashok Bandreddy, Sukumar’s brother’s son. It will be made on a medium budget and is expected to go on floors early next year.
Meanwhile, Sukumar has also approved another unique story narrated by Hemant, a new director. This film will feature fresh faces and is likely to be produced under Sukumar Writings.
Sukumar has a strong record of encouraging assistants to step into direction. Many of his protégés have gone on to success, including Palnati Surya Pratap (Kumari 21F), Hariprasad Jakka (Playback), Buchi Babu Sana (Uppena), Srikanth Odela (Dasara), and Arjun VJ (Prasanna Vadanam). Now, Veera Kogadam and Hemant are set to join this list.
By supporting new directors, Sukumar continues to expand his influence in the Telugu film industry, ensuring fresh talent and stories reach the screen.
