Sreeleela Trolled For ‘Period’ Comments
One of the lead actresses in Ustaad Bhagat Singh, Sreeleela took to the opportunity to share her views on how her work is and said, “All of my songs, I can say, most of them at least have been appreciated. I have shot while I have been on my period, so that is not an excuse anywhere. When we want things in power, when we say we want things equally. I feel we have to push beyond physiological barriers. So psychological, physiological, all of this is not an excuse.”
Now, this has become controversial as she spoke differently from other actresses. Sreeleela saying, ‘Period is not an excuse anywhere, if we want equality, we have to push ourselves much more’. Many actresses like Varalaxmi Sharathkumar, Sai Pallavi, Samantha and many more actresses have already talked about working while on their period. But all of them have spoken about the strength women gather, but sreeleela chose to make it a compulsion and unrealistic standards for working women.
Fans did not take this well and started questioning her on comments section. A user wrote, “Surprised that being a doctor she is normalising this. Periods work differently for different bodies. Get that into your brain, lady.” Another hilarious comment read, “She seems like the kind of person who’d say, ‘Just take a deep breath, there’s so much air,’ to an asthma patient.”

It is very common for celebrities to be misunderstood, but trolling without understanding the perspective, is not okay. Sreeleela did not generalize the topic and she just shared how she looks at it. As we all know that periods are different for everyone and it might be managable to sreeleela. she said ” I have shot while I have been on my period, so that is not an excuse anywhere” and this is clearly about her. she did not make it a statement to everyone as ‘This should not be an excuse’, from where sreeleela stands, that is how she works and thinks.
