Sonu Nigam is one of the legendary singers of Indian Cinema. He started his career as a singer at a very early age of 19 years and grew up the ranks to become one of the most popular singers of Hindi Cinema. Sonu Nigam has become voice of the nation in 2000’s. Music composers loved to give their songs to the singer. Sonu Nigam started singing in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam languages at the peak of his career.
The singer has been attacked at Chembur, Mumbai when he is singing on the stage. Shivsena MLA Prakash Phaterpekar’s son Swapnil Phaterpekar has been identified as the man who pushed Sonu Nigam and his aide off the steps. Mumbai police stated that after Sonu Nigam completed his performance at Chembur Festival, few fans wanted autograph and photographs from him. One of the fan pushed him from the steps and his aides as well.

Sonu Nigam has filed complaint with Mumbai Police stating that he and his aide, Rabbani Khan have been pushed from the steps. He fell on the steps and Rabbani off the steps. Sonu Nigam did not state that this incident had any political angle but it happened in the spur of the moment. But he insisted that such incidents should not repeat and Police should take strict action on the people involved.

Suprada Phaterpekar, who identifies herself as organizer of Chembur Festival, has stated that they have apologized to Sonu Nigam and he is unhurt. She requested people to not believe in rumors spread by people with vested interests. BJP leaders have stated that Shivsena leader Uddhav Thackeray after losing symbol and power has become desperate to hog headlines and his goons are on that work. Sonu Nigam has been shifted to a nearby hospital and his aides have been getting medical assistance.
