Telugu producer SKN said, “Only strong, exciting stories will bring audiences back to theatres.” Young and successful, Telugu producer SKN has become a rising force in the industry. After delivering the blockbuster Baby, SKN is now working on several new and exciting projects under his banner, Mass Movie Makers. Ahead of his birthday on July 7, he spoke about his journey and future plans in a recent interview.

SKN, who began his career as a journalist and PRO, said he always wanted to be close to the Mega family. It was director Maruthi who encouraged him to become a producer. Together, they made Ee Rojullo, which became a big success.

SKN is currently producing Chennai Love Story with Kiran Abbavaram, a Hindi remake of Baby, and two new films with debut directors. He shared that the Hindi version of Baby will be more intense and is set to start filming next month.

He believes only good content can draw people to theatres. “Today’s audience is very smart. They will not watch a film unless it has a strong script. Hype alone is not enough,” he said. Even with small films, SKN focuses on quality writing and storytelling.

He also spoke about ticket prices, saying high rates are keeping audiences away. “Affordable prices and strong content are the only way to win them back,” he added.

SKN revealed plans for more films with directors Maruthi and Sai Rajesh and mentioned that Raja Saab, starring Prabhas, is on track for a grand release on December 5.

He ended by saying, “Cinema is my whole world. I didn’t plan to be a producer, but I became one. I will keep making films that give people a reason to come to theatres.”
