Bollywood star Shraddha Kapoor has started filming for her upcoming project Eetha, a biopic inspired by the life of legendary Tamasha performer Vithabai. Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Maddock Films, the film aims to celebrate the vibrant folk culture of Maharashtra while telling the story of one of its most respected artists.

The shooting of biopic Eetha has officially begun, and Shraddha Kapoor is reportedly deeply involved in her preparation for the role. Sources close to the team revealed that the actress is undergoing extensive training to understand the nuances of Tamasha, a traditional Maharashtrian art form that combines theatre, dance, and music. Known for her dedication, Shraddha is said to be spending long hours perfecting the gestures, dialect, and expressions essential to portraying Vithabai authentically.

Director Laxman Utekar, who has previously worked with Shraddha’s Stree co-star Kriti Sanon in Luka Chuppi and Mimi, is taking a realistic approach to this period drama. The film will trace Vithabai’s journey from her humble beginnings to becoming a household name in Marathi theatre. It also promises to highlight the challenges faced by female performers during that era and how Vithabai broke barriers through her sheer talent and determination.

Music will play a crucial role in Eetha, with renowned composers Ajay–Atul creating the soundtrack. Their powerful compositions are expected to bring authenticity and emotion to the story, echoing the folk roots that defined Vithabai’s artistry.

Following the success of Stree 2, Shraddha Kapoor’s choice to take on such a culturally rich and performance-driven role has drawn praise from fans and critics alike. The actress seems ready to step out of her comfort zone once again, embracing a character that demands both emotional depth and traditional skill.

While the release date of Eetha is yet to be announced, the project is already one of Bollywood’s most talked-about upcoming films, a blend of history, heritage, and heartfelt storytelling.
