Veteran actress Shilpa Shirodkar is set to make her comeback to Telugu cinema with the upcoming supernatural thriller Jatadhara, starring Sudheer Babu. This marks her return to the South Indian film industry after a long break, sparking excitement among fans.

Shilpa, known for her roles in popular Hindi films during the 1990s, was last seen in Telugu cinema decades ago. Her comeback has caught attention not only for her choice of project but also because of her family link, she is the elder sister of Namrata Shirodkar, who is married to Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu.

While many have pointed out this family connection, Shilpa has made it clear that her return is driven by her passion for acting rather than family influence. She expressed happiness about being part of Jatadhara and said it feels special to return to Telugu films after such a long gap.

Directed by newcomer filmmakers, Jatadhara is said to blend elements of mystery, drama, and the supernatural. The film revolves around themes of belief, destiny, and unseen forces that shape people’s lives. Sudheer Babu plays the lead, with Sonakshi Sinha also part of the cast, making it a project that bridges Bollywood and Tollywood talent.

According to reports, Shilpa plays a key supporting role that adds emotional depth to the story. Her return has been met with curiosity, as audiences are eager to see how she fits into this dark, mystical narrative.

Jatadhara is scheduled to release on 7 November 2025 in both Telugu and Hindi languages. The film’s teaser has already generated interest for its intense visuals and fresh concept, promising a unique cinematic experience.

For Shilpa Shirodkar, Jatadhara could mark the beginning of a new chapter in her acting journey, a comeback that reconnects her with regional cinema while reminding audiences of her enduring screen presence.
