Samantha has decided to take on more women-oriented films post Rangasthalam. She did U-Turn and Yashoda. Popularity of Samantha increased Nation-wide after she did Family Man Season 2. She has been now cast in Citadel, Indian version by Raj and DK. Samantha has finished another Telugu film, Shaakuntalam.
She started promotions for the film, with this photoshoot. Samantha did the role of Shakuntala in the film, directed by Gunasekhar. The movie is based on Mahakavi Kalidasa epic, Shaakuntalam. Mohan Babu, Dev Mohan, Jisshu Sengupta, Madhoo, Allu Arha have been cast in the film. Samantha stated that she is happy with the film and output.

She has been fighting with psoriasis and still, she is giving her 100 percent to promoting film and act in them. Samantha is expecting a Pan-India success with the film.
