Salman Khan has made Eid his own holiday. Even his contemporaries don’t want to clash with him on Eid. But he has not been able to deliver such blockbusters for the holiday, lately. His latest film, KKBKKJ – Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, failed to open as per the expectations. Salman Khan films make at least 100 crores for weekend on the holiday. But this film failed to cross 65 crores Nett collection. Salman Khan is expecting any kind of long run for the film.
The movie opened to 65 crores Nett collections in India. At overseas, it settled for $4Million. Salman Khan brand is not that big in Overseas markets but during Eid, he managed to get bigger openings. But KKBKKJ did not have such reception. The movie being a remake and remakes being rejected, this kind of response can be called decent. Salman Khan kind of a star struggling is not healthy for movie industry.
Shah Rukh Khan with Pathaan created new box office records. Hence, Salman Khan fans wanted KKBKKJ and Tiger 3 to be as huge. While Tiger 3 has chance to be huge but KKBKKJ just failed to even get normal Eid collections. Pooja Hegde, Venkatesh, Raghav Juyal, Shehnaz Gill and Ram Charan(cameo) have been part of the film. Still, Farhad Samji script and direction did not bring much hype and buzz to the film prior and post release. Salman Khan needs to look at better scripts for home productions.
