Ramanaidu Studios responds to GHMC notice over licence issue

Ramanaidu Studios

Tollywood’s well-known Ramanaidu Studios in Hyderabad has found itself in the spotlight after receiving a notice from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). The notice reportedly asks the studio to clear pending trade licence dues and provide accurate details related to the commercial usage of its property.

The GHMC’s concern is that the studio may have under-reported the total area being used for commercial purposes. Trade licences are issued based on the size and type of business activities. If a larger area is used than what is declared, the licence fee increases. This is believed to be the reason behind the notice being sent to Ramanaidu Studios.

In response, the studio management has clarified that there is no violation from their side and that they have always followed legal procedures. They explained that the studio is made up of different sections, such as production units, film sets, offices and storage spaces. Some of these, they say, do not fall under the category of commercial usage. They added that they are ready to cooperate with officials and provide full clarity.

The management also expressed confidence that the issue would be settled smoothly. They stated that Tollywood studios are not just businesses, but part of the cultural heritage of Hyderabad, and they always aim to operate with honesty and responsibility.

The notice has sparked discussion in the film industry because Ramanaidu Studios is one of the most respected names in cinema, known for film production, post-production work and supporting young filmmakers. Many believe the issue will be resolved once both sides review the records and measurements.

GHMC officials are expected to reassess the studio premises to confirm the correct licence category and payment details. No harsh action is expected immediately, as the studio has shown willingness to cooperate.

For now, both the studio and officials are handling the matter professionally, and a peaceful resolution is likely.
