Tollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh seems to be planning a comeback to Telugu cinema after four long years. The actress, who moved to Bollywood at the peak of her career, is now said to be making strong efforts to reconnect with the industry.
Rakul is currently busy in Hindi films, including De De Pyaar De 2 and Pati Patni Aur Who Do. Her next film, De De Pyaar De 2, is expected to release next month. However, despite multiple Hindi projects over the past few years, none of them have turned into big hits. She has acted in nearly eight to nine Hindi films in four years, but box office success has remained out of reach.
During this time, Rakul Preet also expressed frustration with Tollywood, saying that only a few actors were being given pan-India opportunities. She shared her disappointment about senior actresses like her not being considered for big projects.
A similar situation was seen earlier with Pooja Hegde, who also moved to Bollywood after a successful run in Telugu films. Though Pooja managed to make a comeback through Tamil cinema, Tollywood has not yet welcomed her back with major roles.
Now, Rakul is reportedly reaching out to her old contacts in the Telugu industry. Sources say she has brought back her former manager to help her reconnect with producers and directors. She is also close friends with Ram Charan and Upasana Kamineni Konidela, which could help her secure new opportunities.
Rakul left Tollywood when she was in high demand, hoping for pan-India success. But with limited hits in Bollywood, her focus is shifting again. Whether the Telugu industry will give her a second chance remains to be seen.
