Rajasekhar is all set to take on a powerful villain role in Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming film Rowdy Janardhan. Directed by Ravi Kiran Kola and produced by Dil Raju, the project has already created a buzz in Tollywood. The film is expected to begin shooting in October, with the team working hard to avoid any further delays.
Reports suggest that Rajasekhar’s role is not a typical antagonist but a strong “peta rowdy” character designed to leave a lasting impact. To ensure the look is authentic, the makers have hired special make-up artists and costume designers from Chennai. A recent look test confirmed that Rajasekhar fits the role perfectly.
Industry insiders reveal that many well-known stars were initially considered for this negative role. However, Rajasekhar was finalised due to the intensity he can bring to the screen and the chemistry his character is expected to share with Vijay Deverakonda. Interestingly, the veteran actor had turned down similar villain roles in the past, including one in a Chiranjeevi film. But this time, the strength of the character convinced him to say yes.
Rowdy Janardhan is said to be a rural-based action drama, with politics playing a key part in the storyline. Given its strong mass appeal, the villain’s role has been written with equal importance as the hero’s. Director Ravi Kiran Kola is believed to be shaping Rajasekhar’s character to resonate strongly with audiences.
Meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda is already busy shooting a period action drama directed by Rahul Sankrityan. That project has completed some portions of filming, and with Rowdy Janardhan getting ready to roll, the actor will now be managing two major films at the same time.
With Dil Raju backing the project and a fresh pairing of Vijay Deverakonda and Rajasekhar, expectations around Rowdy Janardhan are running high. Fans are eagerly waiting for official announcements and first-look posters, which are expected soon.
