Rahman Sufism

Music legend Rahman has opened up about his spiritual journey, sharing how Sufism shaped his life, music, and way of thinking. The award-winning composer said that his connection with Sufi beliefs helped him find peace, clarity, and a deeper purpose in his work.

Rahman, who was born as Dileep Kumar, said that his shift towards Sufi faith was not sudden, but a slow and meaningful personal journey. He explained that he studied different religions as a teenager, trying to understand life, kindness, and the importance of inner peace. Rahman said the values of Sufism, such as love, humility, truth, and devotion to God, strongly touched his heart.

Rahman also said that real spirituality is not about rituals or labels, but about honesty, compassion, and staying away from pride and ego. According to him, the core of every religion teaches peace, not conflict. He believes that harming people or spreading hate in the name of religion goes against the true spirit of faith.

Talking about how spirituality influenced his music, Rahman said that he sees music as a prayer. He believes that when a song is made with pure intention, it can touch millions of hearts, no matter which language or religion they belong to. He said that is why many of his songs carry emotions of peace, devotion and unity.

Rahman described himself as a “spiritual traveller”, always learning and growing. He said his spiritual path gives him strength to face challenges, stay calm, and remain grounded despite his worldwide fame.

Many people admire Rahman not just for his music, but also for his gentle personality and humble lifestyle. His words on faith and harmony have inspired many to think beyond boundaries and respect every belief.

With his simple yet powerful message of peace, Rahman continues to remind us that the language of the heart is stronger than any religion.
