PS-2 or Ponniyin Selvan 2 is coming out into theatres on 28th April, 2023. PS-1 has become an Industry Hit in Tamil Nadu and biggest Overseas grosser for Tamil Cinema. 2.0 stays ahead with Hindi language gross above PS-1 for Tamil films. PS-2 is expected to collect more than PS-1 as it is coming on Baahubali-2 date. The Theatrical trailer and songs will be unveiled on 29th March, at Nehru Stadium. PS-2 team is gearing up for the event.
Mani Ratnam, the legendary director of Indian Cinema, made his dream come true my making this film. He adapted Ponniyin Selvan novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy on to the screen. He has been aiming to do so from past 35 years, ever since, he made Nayakan. With PS-1 he realized half of his dream and PS-2 will complete it. Taking Baahubali as example, he cut Ponniyin Selvan into two parts. PS-2 has been designed to have more larger canvas than PS-1, say sources.
AR Rahman is excited for people to hear the songs, he composed for PS-2. Already, Aga Naga has become viral with over 10 Million views. More songs will be unveiled on 29th March, along with Trailer. Kamal Haasan has been invited as chief guest to the event. PS-2 team has released a teaser to promote the arrival of trailer. Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Jayaram, Prabhu, Sobhita Dhulipala, Vikram Prabhu, Sharath Kumar, R Parthiban have been cast in the ensemble. Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies have produced the film.
