The producer of Raja Saab has shared his views on the growing excitement around the film and the current situation of OTT rights in the film industry. He said the strong response to the trailer has given the team fresh confidence, even though the digital market is facing challenges.

According to the producer, Raja Saab was always planned as a film meant mainly for theatres. He explained that the movie is designed to entertain audiences on the big screen, especially during the festive Sankranti season. Because of this, the makers were never fully dependent on OTT revenue to recover costs.

Speaking about OTT rights, the producer openly admitted that the streaming market is going through a slow phase. He said platforms are no longer offering very high prices as they did earlier. As a result, Raja Saab’s OTT deal was finalised at a lower value than expected. However, he made it clear that this situation is not unique to their film and is affecting many big projects across the industry.

The producer added that strong theatrical performance is more important than OTT revenue at the moment. He believes the trailer has successfully reached the audience and created curiosity, which will help bring people to cinemas. He also stated that Prabhas appearing in a fun and entertaining role has added to the film’s appeal and widened its reach among different age groups.

He further explained that Sankranti is one of the best release periods for films, as families prefer visiting theatres together during holidays. From a producer’s point of view, this festive timing increases the chances of higher box office collections, which can balance the lower OTT income.

The producer also expressed confidence in the film’s content, cast and music. He believes that when a film offers strong entertainment, business concerns such as OTT pricing become secondary. He said the team is focused on delivering a quality theatrical experience rather than worrying too much about digital deals.

In conclusion, the producer said that while OTT rights are important, they should not decide a film’s value. With positive trailer buzz, a popular star and a festival release, he is hopeful that Raja Saab will succeed at the box office and prove that theatres still play a major role in the film business.
