Prabhas’ much-awaited film Raja Saab has officially locked its release date for 9 January 2026. With Sankranti already packed with big releases from Chiranjeevi, Ravi Teja and Sharwanand, the arrival of Raja Saab promises to add strong competition at the box office.
Directed by Maruthi and produced by People’s Media Factory, the film stars Prabhas alongside Nidhhi Agerwal and Malavika Mohanan. Music is being composed by Thaman, which is expected to be one of the film’s highlights.
The makers have planned a unique promotional strategy. The trailer of Raja Saab will be attached to Kantara Chapter 1, releasing this October during Dussehra. This means that wherever Kantara Chapter 1 is screened, audiences will also get a first glimpse of Prabhas’ upcoming film. Fans of both films are already excited, making this a double treat.
Kantara Chapter 1, directed by Rishab Shetty, is a prequel to his 2022 blockbuster Kantara. Known for its devotional themes and rooted storytelling, the prequel is said to be more intense and larger in scale. With Rukmini Vasanth playing the female lead and music by Ajaneesh Loknath, the film has already generated huge buzz. Rishab Shetty, who won the National Award for Best Actor for his role in the original, is expected to deliver yet another powerful performance.
Although rumours suggested Prabhas might appear in Kantara Chapter 1, either in a cameo or as a voice-over, the filmmakers clarified that he is not part of the project. However, his presence will be felt through the Raja Saab trailer, which is expected to create a storm among fans.
With Raja Saab arriving in January 2026, the festive season is shaping up to be one of the biggest clashes in Telugu cinema history. Prabhas’ star power, coupled with Thaman’s music and Maruthi’s direction, is expected to make Raja Saab one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
