Director Sudha Parasakthi Telugu release

The much‑anticipated Telugu release of Parasakthi, starring Sivakarthikeyan, has been delayed due to heavy competition at the Sankranti festival box office. The film, which was originally planned to release alongside the Tamil version, will now have to wait for a less crowded window to reach audiences in Telugu states.

The Tamil version of Parasakthi is scheduled to release on 10 January 2026, moved earlier from the original date. This release comes just a day after Jana Nayagan, starring Vijay, is set to hit screens. While the Tamil market can accommodate multiple big releases, the Telugu market faces a much tighter schedule.

At least five major Telugu films are expected to release around the Sankranti festival. Theatre owners are already prioritising local films for screens, making it difficult for Parasakthi to secure sufficient showtimes. Because of this, producers are considering postponing the Parasakthi Telugu release by about two weeks to ensure the film gets the attention it deserves.

Sankranti is traditionally one of the most competitive periods in the Telugu film industry. Audiences often flock to see local stars during the festival, and distributors usually focus on Telugu films, leaving limited space for other releases. Delaying Parasakthi could help the film avoid getting overshadowed by a crowded festival lineup.

The film stars Sivakarthikeyan alongside Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa, and Sreeleela. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the Telugu version, and the delay, while disappointing, may ultimately help the film reach a larger audience without competing directly with multiple big releases.

Producers are expected to announce the new Telugu release date soon. Meanwhile, excitement continues to build among fans, who are keen to see the action, drama, and performances that have already generated significant buzz for the film.

The delay could prove beneficial in the long run, ensuring that Parasakthi receives the attention and box office success it aims for, rather than getting lost in the festival rush.
