Nani Dasara Plot:
Nani Dasara plot tries to address oppression and alocohol addiction. As the village shown in this film has politics running around the bar and addiction, we get the gist of social message too. Nani Dasara is about Dharani (Nani), a ruffmen in Veerlapally village. The villagers, even elderly women, love to booze and it causes many problems. But politically strong family of Nambi look to takeover Silk Bar and thus win Sarpanch seat. Shivanna (Samuthirakani) and Rajanna (Sai Kumar) being step-brothers fight for one-upmanship on the other. Silk Bar becomes crucial for them to win in elections as everyone in the village are addicted to alcohol. Dharani is friends with Soori (Dheekshith Shetty) and Vennela (Keerthy Suresh).

In Nani Dasara, Soori decides to support Rajanna who is unable to overpower Shivanna and his son, Chinna Nambi (Shine Tom Chacko). Soori and Dharani stands against Chinna Nambi as his oppression suffocates everyone. Rajanna wins with the help of Women votes in the area. Nani Dasara Analysis:
Nani Dasara starts off with a huge visual of silhouette and bang. Nani as Dharani takes us with him into the world. As we get to know about his village and his friends, his lifestyle, we slowly connect with him. While Nani as a performer showcased a transformation into Dharani, writing underwhelms at times. Keerthy Suresh as Vennela is good and Dheekshith Shetty shines as Soori. Everyone in Nani Dasara gave very competitive performances to make us believe in the world created by the makers. Nani, especially, when expressing with eyes, he clearly takes over the screen from many other performers. His look and voice modulation also impresses. He shed the baggage of being Nani and transformed into Dharani, totally. Shine Tom Chacko is good too. Samuthirakani and Sai Kumar have been wasted in Nani Dasara. Most heartening thing is the tribute team has given to Silk Smitha.

The problem lies with writing not withstanding the ambition of visuals and performances. The story is too thin for audiences to relax and just enjoy. Nani Dasara moves at a leisurely pace trying to establish emotions. While it concentrates more on Dharani, it falls flat when exploring others. Sometimes, writing hints at something so casually that revelation doesn’t seem as effective as the makers intended. Organic flow of events is good in Nani Dasara, but the events lack the towering conclusion, that they deserve. Some threads in the story, could have been more interesting to explore but they’re sidelined or resolved too soon. This aspect leaves audiences waiting for the obvious to happen on screen in Nani Dasara.

Even though execution is good and fights try to move the story forward, action choreography undermines. Makers wanted to keep them semi-realistic but at times went overboard too. This aspect in Nani Dasara lowers the impact of several action sequences. Mainly, climax portion seems to have been slightly rushed on editing table. Nani Dasara had many interesting characters who could’ve been used better in the story. Rangasthalam, Kantara shades don’t really help the film as story moments are not as strong as those movies. On the whole, Sathyan Sooryan’s visuals, Santhosh Narayanan music & score help Srikanth Odela to deliver a watchable fare. Nani Dasara doesn’t end up being the event it promised to be.
