Tollywood actor Nandu and his wife, singer Geetha Madhuri, have revealed that they once seriously considered leaving India because of ongoing social media trolling and hurtful online remarks. The couple spoke about the emotional strain the abuse has caused them in a recent interview.

Nandu, known for his work in Telugu films such as 100% Love and Photo, explained that the trolling became so intense that both he and Geetha felt overwhelmed by the constant negative attention. At one point, they even talked about moving abroad and starting fresh, taking up ordinary work away from the glare of fame.

The trolling reportedly intensified after Nandu’s name was linked to a high‑profile drugs investigation in the Telugu film industry in 2017. Although he maintained his innocence, the actor says the allegations caused significant distress to him and his family. Geetha Madhuri, a celebrated playback singer, was also deeply affected by the rumours and personal attacks online.

According to the interview, the couple at times felt that everyday life had become difficult because of the online environment. Nandu said that Geetha found the emotional pain so severe that she suggested leaving India to escape the negativity and live a quieter life, perhaps working in a hotel or doing other low‑profile jobs. These thoughts were shared publicly and surprised many fans.

Online trolling of celebrities is nothing new, and many Indian stars have spoken about its negative impact. Actors across the film and TV world have warned that abusive comments online can harm mental health and personal lives, even when criticism is unfair or exaggerated.

Despite the pressures, Nandu and Geetha remain active in their careers and are grateful for the support of their loyal fans. They have urged social media users to be more respectful and to think about the real people behind the public personas.
