Producer Naga Vamsi has spoken clearly about the financial results of the film War 2 and the rumours around its box office collections. In a recent interview, he addressed claims that he faced massive losses after releasing the film in the Telugu states and explained what actually happened.
War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, was one of the most awaited films of the year. Because of the star cast and strong promotions, expectations were very high before its release. Many believed the film would perform extremely well in all languages, especially in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. However, the collections in the Telugu market did not meet those expectations.
After the release, several reports on social media claimed that Naga Vamsi had suffered huge losses. Some even suggested that he paid an unusually high price for the Telugu distribution rights. Responding to this, Vamsi said these numbers were exaggerated. He clarified that while the film did not give him profits, the losses were not as big as people were saying.
He also revealed that the film’s producers supported him financially when the collections fell short. This helped reduce his losses and showed a level of understanding between the parties involved. According to Vamsi, such arrangements are part of the business and are discussed before the film’s release.
Naga Vamsi also spoke about War 2 posters and announcements that highlight large nationwide collections. He said these posters often confuse audiences, as they do not explain how the money is shared. Many people assume that the distributor or producer receives the full amount, which is not true. He added that this creates false impressions and unnecessary criticism.
The producer admitted that some of his decisions this year did not work as planned. Still, he made it clear that he does not blame the actors or the film team for the outcome. He said success and failure are both part of the film industry, and every project comes with risks.
Despite the setback, Naga Vamsi said he remains confident and focused on future projects. He believes learning from losses is important and said he will continue making films with honesty and passion, without worrying too much about online rumours.
