Vijay Deverakonda is facing a wave of negativity online, and producer Naga Vamsi has stepped in to defend the young actor. Speaking during promotions for their upcoming film Kingdom, Vamsi expressed concern over how Vijay is being unfairly targeted on social media.
Vijay, who has built a strong fan following through both his films and bold personality, also attracts a fair amount of criticism. According to Naga Vamsi, even when Vijay Deverakonda says something with good intent, it is often misinterpreted and turned into controversy.
He recalled an incident at a retro pre-release event where Vijay’s comments were taken out of context. Despite the actor publicly apologising, the trolling has not stopped. Vamsi questioned why Vijay is being targeted so strongly, especially when his recent films have not performed well, and instead of support, he receives harsh online attacks.
The producer believes the negativity feels deliberate. He insisted that Vijay is not the person trolls make him out to be and said that those who meet him personally will see his true, confident nature. While Vijay may have made bold statements in the past, Vamsi noted that the actor has matured over time.
Vamsi’s strong support for Vijay has gone viral on social media. He added that the team is putting in great effort to make Kingdom a success and hopes it rises above the negativity.
Kingdom, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Bhagyashri Borse, is directed by Gautam Tinnanuri and features music by Anirudh Ravichander. The film is set to release on 31 July.
