Naga Chaitanya is currently in one of the busiest and most promising phases of his career. Following the massive success of Thandel, which entered the coveted ₹100-crore club, Naga Chaitanya has secured a strong lineup of big films across multiple genres.
At present, one of those films is Naga Chaitanya is working on a mystical thriller directed by Virupaksha fame Karthik Dandu. Made on a grand scale, this project has already created significant buzz, with trade circles confident it will repeat the box office success of his last outing. Tentatively titled Vrushakarma, the film is expected to hit cinemas later this year.
Once this project is wrapped, Chaitanya is set to collaborate with director Shiva Nirvana for a heartfelt love story. Reportedly based on real-life events, the film is said to carry Shiva’s trademark emotional depth, with expectations of striking a strong chord with audiences.
Meanwhile, talks are also ongoing with leading filmmakers Koratala Siva and Boyapati Srinu. Koratala has pitched a socially driven drama which Chaitanya is keen on taking forward, while Boyapati has narrated a mass-action storyline in his trademark style. Though nothing has been finalised yet, industry sources say both projects remain very much in consideration.
At the moment, scheduling is key. While Boyapati Srinu is occupied with Akhanda 2, Koratala Siva has more flexibility, especially with Devara 2 delayed. If Chaitanya’s dates align, the Koratala project may move ahead sooner.
With a mystical thriller, a touching love story, and potential big-ticket collaborations on the horizon, Naga Chaitanya’s upcoming slate promises variety and scale. His steady rise at the box office, coupled with calculated film choices, is cementing his reputation as one of the most bankable stars in contemporary Telugu cinema.
