Veteran Tollywood actor Mohan Babu recently shared details about his close friendship with superstar Rajinikanth and how it positively changed his life.
Mohan Babu, known for many hit films and powerful roles as a hero, villain, and character artist, has seen mixed success in recent years. His last lead role in Son of India received harsh criticism and was widely trolled on social media. Many fans were upset that a senior actor like him was targeted so badly.
However, he gained some praise for his recent brief role as Mahadeva Shastri in Kannappa. Though his screen time was short, audiences appreciated the strength of the role and his performance. Industry talk suggests that Kannappa did reasonably well at the box office and didn’t face the same negativity as Son of India.
In a recent interview with a national media outlet, Mohan Babu spoke warmly about his long-standing friendship with Tamil superstar Rajinikanth. Their bond is well known among Telugu and Tamil film fans. He said whenever he visits Chennai, he makes sure to meet Rajinikanth, and the same happens when Rajinikanth visits Hyderabad.
“I call him ‘Hey bloody Thalaivaa’, and he always responds with affection,” Mohan Babu said, smiling.
He also opened up about how Rajinikanth gave him life-changing advice. “I used to get angry very easily. Rajini always told me to read books—not just for reading, but to understand the message and apply it to life,” he explained.
Mohan Babu said he followed that advice, and as a result, his temper has calmed over the years. In the past, he was often in the news for getting angry on set, even shouting at or hitting actors and technicians. But nowadays, there are no such complaints.
He credits Rajinikanth’s wise words for helping him change his behaviour, showing how true friendship can shape one’s life.
